Accessibility
LAST UPDATED 13 OCTOBER 2026
OIYI should work for everyone who comes to it: by keyboard, with a screen reader, zoomed in, on a phone, or with motion turned down. The aim is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. The site does not fully meet it yet. This page says what has been checked, what works, and what is still being fixed.
How it was checked
On 13 October 2026 every page was run through an automated checker (axe) at desktop and phone width, and walked through by keyboard, at 320 pixels wide, and with reduced motion switched on. Automated tools find only part of the problems.
What works
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus ring and no keyboard traps. A "Skip to content" link comes first on most pages.
- Pages reflow to a 320 pixel wide screen without sideways scrolling.
- Forms in the cart, the account and Track ID have labels, and say what went wrong next to the field and in a message read out by screen readers.
- If your device asks for reduced motion, animation stops.
- Images carry a text description, or are marked as decoration.
What is being worked on
- Contrast: some small text, such as the amber and light grey labels and a few numerals, is below the 4.5 to 1 ratio AA asks for. It is being darkened page by page.
- Small targets: some footer links, breadcrumbs and remove buttons are smaller than the 24 pixel minimum.
- The cart count in the side bar is drawn visually and is not yet announced by screen readers.
- The search and map overlays are built as dialogs, but returning focus to where you were has not been fully tested.
Known gaps outside OIYI's control
- Embedded players (SoundCloud, YouTube) are made by others and follow their own accessibility. They load only when you press play.
- The card fields at checkout are PayPal's, inside PayPal's frames. PayPal's own PayPal, Venmo and card buttons are an alternative.
- The installers for OIYI software are separate apps; their accessibility is improving release by release.

If something on OIYI gets in your way, write to oiyiproject@gmail.com. Say which page, what you were trying to do, and what you use (browser, screen reader, device) if you can. A person reads every message.
